Building and Other Construction Workers' (BoCW) Welfare Board of different states of India work for the welfare of construction workers of their state and to make different schemes to provide them with financial support. Out of all the various other schemes for construction workers like stipend scheme, shagun yojana, LTC scheme, Exgratia scheme, General Surgery aid scheme, Tool kit scheme, Occupational Diseases scheme, Maternity benefit scheme, Funeral rites scheme, Teeth, Spectacles & Hearing Device scheme, Balri Tohfa Yojana etc., labour card scheme is the most popular. 

Who Can Apply ?

You can apply labour card if you are-

• An Indian citizen
• Resident of the state where you are applying
• You must be an unorganized worker
• Your age should be between 18 years and 40 years.
• Your monthly income should be less than Rs. 15,000.
• Applicant should not be engaged in organized sector or with membership of EPF/NPS/ESIC an income tax payer. 

Benifits of labour Card
Out of numerous benefits, the following are the main advantages that a labor cardholder gets:

1. Financial help of up to Rs. 60,000 for the higher education of children.
2. Complete financial help will be provided by the state government in case of any serious disease.
3. Financial help of Rs. 55,000 at the time of the marriage of the cardholder's daughter.
4. State govt. provides you cash of Rs. 25,000 at the time of the birth of a female child and of Rs. 12000 at the time of the birth of a male child.
